An Interactive Digital Series to Navigate Consent in the Digital Age

LifeStyles & La Trobe University: An Interactive Series to Navigate Consent in the Digital Age

The Challenge: LifeStyles, in partnership with La Trobe University’s Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS), required a modernised national sex education program. The objective was to translate key academic research findings into a highly engaging, curriculum-aligned classroom experience that tackled the modern nuances of consent, peer pressure, and digital relationships, while actively demonstrating LifeStyles’ corporate commitment to health, wellness, and inclusion.

The Solution: Applying human-centered design, we facilitated strategic workshops and conducted extensive qualitative research, including curriculum analysis and stakeholder interviews with educators and students. Based on these insights, we developed an interactive, 'choose-your-own-path' narrative series. By engineering specific ‘moments of choice’ into the narrative architecture, we provided teachers with a mechanism to pause the story and facilitate critical classroom discussion and debate. We also advised on the design of the broader digital ecosystem to support the rollout, a comprehensive Teacher’s Guide and the dedicated student support portals.

The Impact: We successfully bridged the gap between academic research and creating a meaningful and engaging classroom experience - for teachers and students alike. Importantly, these resources equip students with the critical thinking skills required to safely navigate complex social and digital environments.
