Answering the Call: A National Impact Campaign

PROJECT: UNANSWERED CALLS IMPACT CAMPAIGN

CLIENT: SAFE STEPS FAMILY VIOLENCE RESPONSE CENTRE

Answering the Call: The 'Unanswered Calls' National Impact Campaign

Following the production of ‘Unanswered Calls’, the next challenge was to transform the film into a catalyst for change. This meant raising awareness and gathering support to address the service and response gaps that exist for young people experiencing family and domestic violence.

Extending our involvement beyond the production of the film, we played a crucial role in co-designing and executing the broader impact campaign in partnership with Safe Steps, Minderoo Foundation and a range of delivery partners such as Perfect Events Group and York Park Group. The impact campaign to date has included:

  • A national roadshow of invite-only screenings in key cities, with approximately 1,500 attendees at screenings in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide, with upcoming screenings planned for Perth and Canberra. These events have seen high engagement from key audience groups, including commissioners and politicians. Below are videos we post produced following each screening.

  • Working with media partners to amplify our collective efforts across a range of media channels, including producing promotional assets and a Video News Release (VNR) to drive media and social engagement.

  • Launched the community screenings, with over 100 requests received to date from a range of organisations, including the Royal Children’s Hospital and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. Hosting organisations are provided with a Community Screening Guide and all the assets needed to make their screening an impactful event. If you’re interested in hosting a screening, register your interest here.

The campaign's primary call to action is to attract support and funding to implement a national co-design process, to craft the services young people desperately need. The young voices in this film gave us permission to use their experiences to inspire real-world change, so the job doesn't end when the film ends; it begins. It’s time to answer their calls.
